Here at SCC, it is always our goal to "be" the church; not simply to attend a weekly service.
And--from what we can tell--being the church includes being there for one another.
Take a look at how the Bible describes followers of Jesus back at the very beginning what we now call "church":
That's why our SCC midweek home meetings exist: to provide a time each week when we can meet in smaller gatherings, outside of our weekly service, and share a meal together, celebrate Communion, pray for each other, study a little bit of the Bible together--and, simply, "be there" for each other.
Our home meeting semesters usually happen three times each year, from February through April, June through August, and October through mid-December, with our "sign-up" months occurring in January, May, and September.
Each new semester brings new home locations, new groups, and new leaders, in hopes of helping our church to remain continually "open" to include more and more people, and avoid ever becoming "clique-ish."
If you'd like to be a part of our next round of home gatherings, let us know!
We'd love to have you join us!
All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
