After our band-led worship time, Pastor Matt will teach a relevant and inspiring 20-30-minute lesson based on the Bible. His goal is always to engage your mind as well as your heart, and to challenge you to do something great with your life in the week ahead.
Passionate Worship Music:
Our weekly services open with a brief time of welcome and prayer, followed by about 10-15 minutes of contemporary worship music led by our band. Our goal is to create a musical worship experience that is both encouraging and meaningful.
We aren't a perfect church, and we don't always get it right, but it is always our goal to be a place where it is "OK to not be OK" as we move toward "OK" together. We take to heart Jesus' command to "love each other as He has loved us", and we do our best to live that out authentically on every level at SCC.
Our only dress code is "please do!" The Bible tells us that God is far more interested in our hearts than our outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7). For us, casual dress at SCC is a reminder of what is most important.
The New Testament paints a picture of church that sounds a lot like a family (Acts 2:42-47, 1 Corinthians 12-13). So, we offer a worship service seating style that is meant to encourage authentic relationship with one another, rather than something more reminiscent of an impersonal "audience attending a performance." After each week's sermon, we leave some time for chatting about the day's topic with other believers, encouraging one another, and praying for each other.
Basically, it is always our goal at SCC to be the church, not simply attend a service
